Ventura County Hazards Mitigation Plan

2015 mhmp

The County of Ventura, in partnership with nine of the ten incorporated cities, and several water, park and school Districts, has jointly developed a 5-year update to the 2010 Ventura County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (final draft: September 2015).  The update is required under the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 to ensure continued eligibility for future grant funding opportunities. The Plan assesses the risks posed by natural and human-caused hazards and establishes a mitigation strategy for reducing these risks. Hazards addressed include flooding, tsunamis, earthquakes, wildfires, and agricultural biological hazards. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors adopted the Plan on September 22, 20105.
